and her trusty crew continue to blast along towards the Socorros and parts
beyond. The swell is increasing on the forward starboard beam, so the reef in
the main sail has made the ride a good bit more comfortable, and we’re still
honking along at 5.5 - 7.2 knots SOG with a strong current from the starboard
stern quarter. A quartet of boobies seem determined to roost on our bow and
make “deposits” on our hull, but trusty crewman Thad is on deck, strapped in
and shooing them away. We’re about 27 hours from the Socorros, and will
continue to evaluate the softening conditions that threaten to develop. Perhaps
a stop at San Benedicto is in order?
