We
waved hello and goodbye to the Socorro Islands yesterday, and pressed on
sailing through the night, averaging around 5.8 knots in decent seas. Despite a
light wind forecast for this morning, we’re still tooling along quite nicely at
around 5.5 knots speed over ground. The wind is around 12 knots from the North
which puts our apparent wind at around 120 degrees off the starboad beam,
JollyDogs favorite point of sail. Seas are migrating towards the starboard
stern quarter making for a very gentle ride. Isabel is sitting in the sun,
looking for whales and complaining the weather is too perfect. English folks
are like that, with their metric for success being something like “well, it
could be worse”. I’m crazy about her.
